Coleridge: Requiem

Sunday 28th September 2025, 6.30pm

Windsor Parish Church, High Street, Windsor, SL4 1LS

Join Windsor’s leading chamber choir and the dynamic Orpheus Sinfonia for an evening of stirring choral music, culminating in a performance of Matthew Coleridge’s Requiem—one of the UK’s most beloved new choral works, and a top debut in the Classic FM Hall of Fame 2023.

This programme features a rich tapestry of 20th- and 21st-century choral music, blending the sacred and the secular. In the first half you can expect the timeless beauty of Parry and the haunting expressiveness of Rachmaninoff, alongside works by contemporary composers including Elder, Hagenberg, Trotta, and Runestad—each offering emotional depth, lyrical richness, and captivating beauty.

After the interval, the centrepiece of the evening awaits: Matthew Coleridge’s Requiem. Profound, stirring, and transcendent in its beauty, this modern masterpiece unites voices and orchestra in a radiant journey from sorrow to serenity.

Don’t miss this unforgettable celebration of choral music at its most expressive.
